Australia Day celebrates the arrival of the British in 1788. I feel fortunate to be here in this land. But lets face it, this was not Terra Nullius, people did live here, many peoples, with different languages, 250 languages and many cultures, this was their land, their country. And it still is.
I am grateful to be here. But Australia day for my friends is no happy celebration day, it is a day to commemorate: the day of Mourning or Survival Day. And so this year in solidarity with them and in honouring the truth, I am bringing out a flag for Australia day: the Aboriginal flag.
