Un libro en ingles destinado a niños de 6 a 12 años de edad.
Esta basado en una historia real que se desarrolla en el marco cultural del valle de Amescoa, (con sus conocimientos del entorno natural y la agricultura tradicional).
El cuento plantea preguntas importantes relativas a los modernos sitemas de suministro alimentario. Como parte de este sistema moderno (y en total contraste al sistema tradicional que se practica en Amescoa) el libro presenta una moderna granja avícola industrial y sus dueños: una familia con cuatro niñas.
Enseguida vemos como las niñas ponen en relieve lo absurdo que es una granja industrial en un lugar como Amescoa donde abundan los alimentos de la tierra y donde las estaciones del año dictan el ritmo de la vida. A las niñas no les gusta trabajar en la moderna granja avícola y consiguen acabar con esta actividad para siempre.
El relato tiene un final feliz. La familia abandona la nefasta empresa avícola y decide aprender a vivir como los amescoanos, responsabilizándose de sus necesidades alimentarias y en contacto con la naturaleza.
